To begin the journey, you have to take the first step.
Therapy is rarely an easy thing to begin, and frequently people hesitate until problems seem overwhelming. But life doesn't have to become overwhelming to get help. All you have to do is take the first step and call Sue Boyd, LCSW. Sue provides a safe and non-judgmental space to discuss difficult topics. Don't let fear of judgment stop you from getting the help you need.

Sue provides individual, couples and family therapy as well as DBT individual therapy with DBT group skills training. She also specializes in working with people who are Lesbian, Gay or Bisexual. Sue is a Gender Therapist, providing Gender Therapy to Transgender and Genderqueer individuals and their families in San Diego county.
She is a Kink-Friendly therapist and also specializes in providing therapy to the Poly community.

Sue specializes in providing couples/marriage therapy to couples who are experiencing difficulties in communication, lack of passion, and general dissatisfaction in their marriage.

DBT individual and family therapy and DBT group skills training for adults and adolescents are now available in San Diego County with Sue Boyd, LCSW and Applied DBT Clinicians of San Diego. DBT Skills Training Groups are in adherence to Dr. Marsha Linehan's Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) specifically helps to develop skills to increase the ability to be present in the moment, to identify and regulate emotions, to interact with others effectively, and to tolerate crisis. This assists in decreasing misery and suffering, and leads to having a life worth living.

Adolescent Multi-family DBT individual and group therapy are now available! If you are a teenager or have a teenager who has severe mood swings or depression, has difficulty regulating emotions, has low impulse control or an eating disorder, has a difficult time interacting with others, and/or has self-injurious or self-harm behaviors, please contact Sue Boyd, LCSW for information re: beginning individual and group DBT therapy. DBT is for both adults and adolescents.
